In 1948, the country of Korea was divided into two countries and they now have different government systems and ways of life. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is also known as North Korea and the Republic of Korea (ROK) is South Korea.
The population of South Korea is approximately 48.6 millon people and its capital is Seoul. The official language spoken in South Korea is 'Korean' and English is the preferred second language.
