The National Folk Festival is held at Exhibition Park in Canberra every Easter. The festival draws together people from all around Australia and the world. They come to participate in the songs, dances, tunes, and verse that have flowed through the ages from many communities into Australian folk culture.

Hundreds of the world's best musicians perform daily. There are also workshops and sessions, where you can join in the dancing, singing and playing and become part of the celebration.

The National Folk Festival is offering classroom teachers the opportunity to request a CD (assessed as being most suitable for secondary students) featuring musical highlights from the 2009 National Folk Festival. The music covers a variety of themes and may be useful for teachers for music appreciation, dance/movement, music genres and different forms of artistic response within their learning programs.

A copy of the CD can be ordered via the 'Request Free Resources' section of this website.
