In 1606, the small ship, the 'Duyfken' and its crew from the Netherlands were the first Europeans to set foot on the unique and uncharted continent of Australia.

The Netherlands Embassy has developed an educational website for Australian children to celebrate the history and longstanding friendship between Australia and the Netherlands.

Children can discover many interesting facts about the enduring friendship between the Dutch and the Australians, and the similarities and differences between our two cultures. On the website, children can also learn how to say phrases in Dutch and find out about living in the Netherlands.
